Ron Rasmussen

"Not your typical minister" is a common description of this fun-loving personality. Ron has been in the local preaching ministry since 1978. He began his fourth, New Testament Christian Church, in January of 2019. His preaching is always grounded in the Word of God, full of personal application, and often contains humor. He loves being with family--his wife, Jenny (married in 1975), their son and daughter & spouses, and two grandsons. Ron is a long-time fan of Southern Gospel music; he has sung "speaker rattling bass" in the same professional quartet since the 1970's. When he's not on the job, you might find him golfing, fishing, reading John Ortberg or John Grisham, or maybe watching an episode of "Will Trent" or even old reruns of "Frasier." You will not find him eating liver or food highly spiced with thyme or spending a day in a boat with a super-serious-hyper-intense personality! He loves Winston Churchill quotes, Kevin James humor and songs that speak of God's care in the midst of turmoil, like "Eye of the Storm."
